Nobeltec supports more brands and models of GPS units than any other software manufacturer. However, not all models from the companies indicated at right support data transfers.

Nobeltec Navigation software is compatible with any GPS or device that supports the NMEA 0183 data sentence.

Nobeltec Navigation software utilizes a GPS in two ways. The first is by using the GPS for positioning which is referred to as Real-Time Tracking. Real-Time Tracking is a feature in Nobeltec Navigation software that allows you to see your boat move across an electronic chart in real time. The other way in which Nobeltec uses a GPS is for uploading and downloading information to and from the GPS. This feature allows you to transfer routes, marks, and tracks from your GPS to your PC and vice versa.

In order to perform either of these functions with your Nobeltec Navigation software, your GPS needs to meet the following requirements:

GPS Real Time Tracking
Supports all GPS and devices that support NMEA 0183
It needs to occupy a com port in device manager under ports/com/LPT
