After we sent out one of our newsletters which discussed way of making the mouse cursor more visible, on of the newsletter subscribers sent us a cursor that he created. We tried it. It is really visible. So he gave us permission to put it on our web site for others to use.

Download
Download the High-Visibility Cursor (1 kb)
Download Instructions
Click on the colored, underlined text (hyperlink) that says 'The Ultimate Pointing Machine' to start the download process. A "Save As" dialog box will appear.
Select where you want the file saved on your hard drive. We recommend you put the file in your C:\windows\cursors subdirectory if you have one. Do not change the name of the file (Arrow_r.cur).
Make a note of where you are saving the file if you put it somewhere other than C:\windows\cursors.
After selecting where to save the file, click the Save button. This will begin the download process.
Installation Instructions
From the main Windows screen, select "START | Settings | Control Panel".
From the control panel, double click on the mouse icon. If you do not see a mouse icon, you probably do not have the appropriate mouse or drivers to avail of this special cursor.
In the "Mouse Properties" window box, select the tab labeled "Pointers".
Click the "Browse" button in the bottom right hand corner of the window box. Select the file called "Arrow_r.cur" (you should see a red cursor icon to the left of the description). If you downloaded the cursor to a location other than C:\windows\cursors, you will need to navigate to that location.
Click 'Open'. This will close the "Browse" window box.
Now click 'OK' to close the "Mouse Properties" window box.
You should now have a very visible red pointer.
Note: you can always restore your original pointer by going into Mouse Properties (tab=Pointers) and clicking on the button labeled "Use Default".
