The Perfect Stocking Stuffer

This holiday season give your significant other the perfect tech gift – a USB flash drive. As computers become an ever increasing part of our lives, transferring data and files from one PC to another has never been easier thanks to USB flash drives. Prices on flash drives have dropped substantially. For instance, CompUSA® is advertising a 1GB flash drive for $18. If you have a Windows XP computer, a USB flash drive is simply a plug-and-play device.

With a USB flash drive, Jeppesen Marine customers can easily import and export their routes and marks between PC’s without having to manually re-input the data. Also, captains would appreciate the ability to 'Save' and 'Load' different User-Interfaces (UI's) after customizing the size, position, and number of buttons on the Nobeltec screen.
 
To brush up on how to utilize your new USB flash drive, go to the 'File' pull-down menu inside Nobeltec software and select 'Navigation Objects'. Choose to ‘Export Nav Objects’ and change the location of the file to be saved by hitting the ‘Browse’ button in the top-right corner.

Locate your connected USB flash drive by hitting the ‘My Computer’ icon on the left column. It may appear something like the image below:

After exporting the data to the USB flash drive, you can ‘Import Nav Data’ on a different PC using the same steps and the ‘Import’ function in the ‘File’ pull-down menu.

Besides sharing marks and routes between Nobeltec applications, USB flash drives are great for storing software updates from the Nobeltec web site, family pictures, Word documents and much more.
